How the formula works
On GMX v2, liquidation happens when your collateral net of fees falls below the maintenance margin requirement. For an isolated-margin long:
liquidation = entry − (equity − notional × MMR − fees) / positionSize × entry
Where MMR is GMX v2's maintenance margin rate (~0.56% on BTC/ETH GM markets) and fees is the optional round-trip open + close at 3 bps each side.
What this calculator doesn't model
- •Borrow fees. GMX v2 charges per-second borrow on the larger side of an imbalanced GM pool.
- •Funding fees. Newer in v2 and asymmetric: longs and shorts can both pay depending on open interest balance.
- •Price impact. Both open and close incur impact based on how your trade shifts pool balance.
- •Per-market variance. SOL, AVAX, and other long-tail GM markets cap leverage lower and use tighter MMR.
